About Your Certification Quiz

Our certification quizzes are carefully crafted to highlight the most important and relevant information plant lovers and practitioners need to know in order to work with herbs within the context of health and wellness.   This includes tastes, actions, affinities, special indications, therapeutic applications, safety, pharmacology and formulation. Each quiz comes with a unique access code allowing you to receive your score and graded answers immediately following the quiz.  If you scored 80% or higher, the .pdf download of your certificate will arrive automatically in a separate email.  

About Me

Hello! I'm Kelly Araneda. I’ve bounced around the US and lived in some amazing places like Idaho, Maine, Florida, Washington state, Colorado, Utah, and currently reside in the outskirts of Raleigh, NC. My college studies in Family Sciences and Anthropology took me to more beautiful places like Guatemala and South Africa. I served an 18-month mission in Brazil sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.  I met my husband on a subsequent visit to Brazil, and we lived there for another year after our marriage.  We have been married for nearly 24 years and are happy homeschooling parents of seven beautiful children. 

My journey with plants stems from a lifelong passion for gardening and self-sufficiency. Planting corn and beans led to planting yarrow and comfrey, which I then had to figure out how to use!  My studies became more serious after two significant life events that challenged and changed my view of conventional western medicine.  Both of these incidents taught me deep reverence for the sanctity and wonder of life, for the Creator of all life, and for the web of life on this lovely green planet.

My studies to date include: 

  • Herbal Academy: Both the Intermediate and Advanced Programs (500+ hours)

  • School of Evolutionary Herbalism (330+ hours)

  • CommonWealth Holistic Herbalism School (200+ hours)

  • Eclectic School of Medical Herbalism (currently enrolled with at least 150 hours and counting)

  • Various lectures, webinars, intensives, conferences, and independent reading (200+ hours)

  • Mentee at LaurelTreeWellness with Naomi Kilbrith RH (AHG) through May 2025.

In addition to formal studies, I am secretary of the newly formed Town Square Herbalism group where I lead the monthly book club meetings and participate in Herb-of-the-Month offerings. We are currently reading The Practicing Herbalist by Margi Flint. This group is headed by Naomi Kilbreth RH (AHG) of Laurel Tree Wellness.   • I have been gardening for over 20 years! I grow many of my own herbs from which I create various remedies such as tinctures, salves, lotions, teas, steams, balms, syrups, lozenges and more!

Why I started MMM Quizzes:

I understand that there's just a LOT of information to remember and organize when studying herbalism.  It can be difficult to know if you're retaining the important details that you'll need to recall in the future.  The homeschool mom in me decided to create quizzes to help myself master my own materia medica.   Now I'm sharing these rigorous quizzes with you to help you dial in on key information, assess your retention of core concepts, and master your materia medica. 

My pledge of quality: 

I am careful with my study dollars and I'm sure you are too.   That's why I price these quizzes as low as I can while providing you with quality information, study helps, and certifications.  I wouldn't offer anything that I wasn't willing to purchase myself.
